Commercial MDF vs furniture-grade vs moisture-resistant vs pre-laminated.
Density / Quality
Higher density = better finish/surface machining. From a wood manufacturer site: “MDF … is more dense”
Cuts / Use Case
If your project uses heavy loads (shelves, furniture), thicker board or higher grade may be needed.
Edge & Finish
Edges should be clean/flat; if white finish is only on one side check reverse side finish.
Moisture/Environment Suitability
MDF swells if moisture exposure; if needed moisture-resistant variant should be chosen
